The marimba is in excellent condition.
None of the tubes are bent or dented. The keys are not scarred and do not have any mallet marks.
The only mallets used on this instrument were yarn covered, soft mallets.
The only blemish is a small dent on the front of the large end. You can see it in one of the pictures.
It is easily repairable and would disappear with some new paint.
As far as a history is concerned, the history is rather short but covers a long time.
The instrument has been in my possession since it was delivered to me by Clair Omar Musser himself.
I took delivery from Mr. Musser, as I recall, in Los Angeles. I do not know the exact date but it would have been in the early 50's or late 40's.
It was used by me for a couple of years until I went away to the military in 1953. Since that time it has been in storage.
I reassembled it in 2006.
It obviously has had little use from the time I bought it and no use since 1953.
The marimba also comes with cases.
